This place has a cool vibe to it. When you are walking up, it is beautifully landscaped and once you walk in it is tastefully decored in a way that is modern and crisp, yet pays homage to the past. Please see my photos... Our Server Sean was fantastic. He was upbeat, enthusiastic, and very helpful. I would seldom say this about anyplace I go, but I would request to be sat in his section. Foodwise, this place is very good, but a notch or two under great in my opinion. I ordered the brunch tacos. They were very average and nothing that I would order again. The queso was very good, a definite repeater. The quesadilla was absolutely delicious.

My girlfriend and I were craving some Mexican food so we stopped here during lunch. Atmosphere is truly a special one. Wonderful decorations and the vibe was upbeat and vibrant . We sat at the bar where we started off with some margaritas. They hit hard to say the least. Then we got some appetizers . The barbacoa deviled eggs were exquisite . (If that's your thing) And the white queso was steaming and hit the spot . Put bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu and made awesome recommendations . Service was 10/10. We shared the Torta and the quesadilla with Birria. Went home and had the nap of a lifetime . :)

On a Saturday afternoon, I grabbed a friend and we went out for lunch and drinks. We arrived around 4pm and the restaurant wasn't super busy but the patio was mostly filled. We opted for the patio and sat next to the fire-pit! The restaurant is nicely decorated and does have lots of photo ops props for those interested in getting great photos! Our server was very attentive and came over to our table quickly to take our drink orders. We both ordered margaritas and chips and salsa were brought to our table as well. You receive a red salsa and a green salsa. I did not try the green salsa because mayo was in it- I am not a fan of mayo. The red salsa was yummy and my friend raved over the green salsa. For my main meal, I ordered the 3 taco plate. The big dipper taco was fantastic! The other two tacos were ok, but I would not order them again. After we finished our meals, our server brought out churros with two dipping sauces (chocolate and a salted caramel). The churros were yummy...I was not a fan of the dipping sauces but I didn't think the churros needed them!

This was our first visit to Neon Cactus, and let's just say--they know how to make a great first impression! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was lively, the decor was unique, and deliciousness filled the air. Rave reviews about their Queso Blanco peeked our interest. It arrived like it's your birthday .. in a hot pot made of rock, lol, steamy, creamy, flavorful, and the kind of thing you contemplate ordering a second round of even when you know food is on it's way. Yes, it's that delicious! Everything else we ordered matches the rave reviews you are already reading. It's worth mentioning our waiter, Demitrius. This man didn't just bring us food; he delivered an experience! Friendly, attentive, and somehow always there at the perfect moment -- he made sure our meal was top-notch. And just when we thought we couldn't love this place more, Demitrius hit us with the first-time visitor special -- churros on the house! Not just any churros, but warm, crispy cinnamon sugar bites of heaven served with a rich chocolate sauce and a secret caramel sauce so good it probably has its own fan club. We may never know the secret, but we do know we'll be back for more! Overall, Neon Cactus gave us the kind of first visit that guarantees there will be a second, third, and probably many more. If you're looking for great food, a fun atmosphere, and a waiter who deserves a raise (Demitrius!), this is the spot.

Neon Cactus was overall a good experience! The service was great, as were the drinks and food. The ambiance, though, is what stands out to me! While I wouldn't in any way call this place "authentic" -- it is, after all, a fusion -- the food *was* delicious. For an appetizer, we got the queso blanco, which to our surprise came in a molcajete and was DELICIOUS. For the main course, I got the K-Drama Tacos and my boyfriend got The Big Dipper Tacos and a Lime Margarita and we were impressed! While the portions were smaller than expected, every bite was great. Neither of us were a huge fan of the rice or beans, but that's not a dealbreaker for us. Our server, Jules, was so knowledgeable, helpful, and kind throughout the whole process! We went when it wasn't very busy and ate on the patio since we had my dog, and everyone was great. She told us about the happy hour and taco deal that we had no idea were going on, which informed our food and drink decisions! Thank you Jules! Overall, a solid 4/5!

I approached Neon Cactus with caution. Another Mexican restaurant occupied this space before. I had a" less than", experience there and the environment was part of it. Also,it's common for restaurants to close and open up later under the same owners) operators. I don't believe that happened here. My meal here was surprisingly good. It has the potential to be great and five stars but it was the little things that held that back. For example. It was mid afternoon and not busy. However, there were two bartenders and I thought it took too long for drinks to arrive. Part of the problem was the waitress came back to explain someone left the margarita machine on the night before and the frozen flight wasn't available? Also, my entre, although just acceptable, could have been hotter. Other than those minor events all was great. One issue for next visit could be seating. Most of the restaurant is long bench along the wall with 2 topper. They tried seating us there but fortunately there was a traditional booth . I had the loaded Tamale. Think Yucatan or latin American. Shredded chicken perfectly seasoned, embraced in a fluffy white masa and rolled in a banana leaf. I like it a lot. Chili Relleno with beef and subtle spices in a sublime sauce may be the best one going in Dallas right now. Superb. Drinks were creative and my Lavender lemonade with Empress Gin was the perfect afternoon pairing to my Tamale. If your north for any reason, stop in. It's worth a shot to ... Go!

Food was great and our server Starla was terrific. However, the hostess and the manager working on March 1 during the day were horrible and should not be in the service industry. It's insane how they can be lacking the skills and yet every server I saw was truly cheerful and helpful.

The restaurant opened up last summer per the waitress. It's a super cute/cool restaurant. We sat in outside patio. There is a private enclosed space off to the patio that they said you rent out during the weekends. We got the crispy quesadilla, birria ramen and the taco plate - I chose the Korean bulgogi, shrimp, and birria tacos. They were all good. The chips with salsa and creama were also really good. I got the watermelon margarita that was good but not very strong. We ordered the churros which we didn't like. Too dense.
